A financial planner is a licensed professional certified to provide personalized financial planning advice and recommend specific financial products. In Canada, this requires formal credentials and registration with a regulatory body.
A financial educator (or money coach) teaches general money concepts, strategies, and skills to help people make more informed financial decisions on their own. No licensing is required to educate, but it also means I cannot tell you what to do with your money, accounts, or investments.
Think of it this way — A financial planner is your navigator. A financial educator is the person who teaches you how to read the map. A financial planner can tell you how to manage your money and what to do. A financial educator provides you with tools and empowers you to make your own decisions.
At Golden Pebbles, I am your financial educator — sharing knowledge, tools, and real experience to help you build confidence with money. For personalized financial planning, please work with a licensed professional.
