I built Golden Pebbles to help people build calm, capable relationships with money. That work depends on trust — and protecting your information is part of how I earn it. How do I use cookies?

My site uses both first-party and third-party cookies. First-party cookies are mostly necessary — they help the site function properly and don't collect personally identifiable information about you.

The third-party cookies come from Squarespace, my website platform. They show me basic visitor and pageview data in my admin dashboard so I can see how readers find and use the site. I do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

I plan to add Google Analytics later in 2026 to better understand how readers use the site. Before that change takes effect, I will update this policy and notify current subscribers by email.

Types of cookies I use

Necessary

Necessary cookies are required to enable the basic features of this site, such as secure log-in and saving your consent preferences. They do not store any personally identifiable data.

  • crumb (session) — Squarespace sets this cookie to prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF).

  • rc::a (Never Expires) — Google reCAPTCHA cookie that identifies bots to protect the site against malicious spam attacks.

  • rc::c (session) — Google reCAPTCHA cookie that identifies bots to protect the site against malicious spam attacks.

Performance

Performance cookies help me understand how the site performs so I can improve the visitor experience.

  • GCLB (session) — Google Cloud Load Balancer cookie used for external HTTPS load balancing of the cloud infrastructure with Google.
